Wooden Ketch "Sea Chantey" - Nantucket Harbor

Wooden Ketch "Sea Chantey" - Nantucket Harbor

One afternoon, I was walking along Brant Point on Nantucket and noticed the wooden ketch “Sea Chantey” making it’s way slowly out of the harbor, so I captured several photos of it. Nantucket is also known as “The Gray Lady” because of the famous mists and fogs that just seem to sweep over the islands at any time only to disappear a short time later. If you look at the far shore behind the boat you’ll see an example of this phenomenon. Earlier a midday mist had swept over downtown Nantucket and had only just lifted as I arrived at Brant Point. The far shore of the harbor however was still cloaked in the mist as I captured this photo.
