Catboat and Sloop - Nantucket

Catboat and Sloop - Nantucket

Nantucket island's nickname is "The Gray Lady". She gets this name because of the fog that can often blanket the island. You can be walking downtown on a sunny day and the fog can roll in in minutes and then just a short time later it rolls out and it is a sunny day again. That is what happened on the day I shot this photo. I was down by the docks when the fog rolled in. As I made my way along Easy Street, I noticed these two lonely boats sitting in the glossy water. I took a few shots and continued walking. By the time I arrived at Childrens Beach a short distance away, the fog hand left and it was a beautiful day again.
