The Quahog has played an important part in both the economic and culinary aspects of New England history. The native people’s used part of its shell as a kind of currency and members of my family have made a living at harvesting them. They also play an important part in some of my favorite local dishes. One day I was looking at a quahog shell and I thought it would be interesting to photograph it.
