Henry Krauzyk - Photography

I accomplish my work by shooting in color as well as black and white. I do this using a variety of cameras both film and digital. My workhorses are my Nikon 35mm SLR’s. My goal when shooting is to capture as pure and perfect an image as possible because I don’t like to use too many “tricks” in either the conventional or digital darkroom.
I enjoy photography because it is like collecting the impossible. It also offers me an opportunity to share my perspective and vision with other people. It is always my intention to capture and present something that they can connect with in a positive way. Ideally, I think I am most often looking for moments of peace and thoughtfulness. The sun waking the sleeping earth, the innocence of a newborn or the timeless wisdom in the eyes and faces of the elderly, all engage me and I find moments of joy in them.
In a complex world where we are constantly bombarded with painful images and news from seemingly ever-increasing media outlets it is important that we know that we are still surrounded by moments of profound beauty, and I do my best to at least capture hints of their twinkles and shadows.

odd fact:
Four of my cameras were, on different occasions, rescued from the dump by my father. Perfectly good and functioning cameras discarded by their previous owners rather than being donated to a school or other charity.
